Abi Bechard has been a lifelong creative. She has resided in Fort Worth all of her 35+ years and has a heart for the city, especially the Wedgwood neighborhood. In 2020 while she began a handcrafted jewelry online business, Abi Be Made. This took off and allowed her access to many incredible local small businesses and artists. Through that experience she learned that she loved most the ability to connect to others and elevate the act of creating tangible objects with your hands and heart.
As Mary Harrison looked to retire from The Artful Bead in 2023, Abi came alongside with her vision of continuing communal handicrafts in the area. Together they saw a path to continuing the shop in the heritage of its 21 years, while tailoring it to a new generation of creative people.
Abi has a husband in local remodeling who brings structure and fun to her life. Three young boys who often can be found helping around the store with all the vim and vigor. She is supported by a murmuration of women, sisters, friends, who have encouraged her and make this a daily possibility.
Be Made Beads sits in the space where The Artful Bead has been run for 21years. The Artful Bead created a legacy of quality materials and education on all things beads for Fort Worth. And is known in the beading community as a pillar of excellence thanks to its previous owner, Mary Harrison. Be Made Beads will continue that heritage into the future, focusing on quality, communal making, joyful collaborations, and embracing new modes of sharing.

We do repairs and custom designs as services. We also have events such as classes and workshops on a broad range of topics and skills.
